440 Pro warmer than 220 Pro - Even in Standby - markush - 23-Mar-2020 Did anyone also experience this - or has an idea what could be causing this? 440 Pro warmer than 220 Pro - Even in Standby - Elztalbiker - 23-Mar-2020 Same by all dual monos. Companion is a bit warmer, in standby also. Companion is a bit warmer, in standby also.Oh didn't know - thank you Was even getting a bit concerned that there might be something wrong in the setup etc. Though still wondering why this is the case even in standby. There shouldn't be anything going on between master & companion right? 440 Pro warmer than 220 Pro - Even in Standby - Elztalbiker - 23-Mar-2020 Companion is still contacted to the Master, waiting for signals and have in this reason work more. The result is a higher temperature by the Companion. The result is a higher temperature by the Companion. I'm not sure about this... I had the same problem on two configurations: 210 Pro and 440 Pro. For both, on companion the only active input is digital in. Everything is off, including remote. On master, remote is on, and also multiple inputs (at least Ethernet). So, master is waiting signals from more sources than companion. Still, master is cold, and companion is warm. This is for both stand by and power off (long press on remote power button). I also watched displays on startup, and there is a big difference between master and companion when wake up from sleep. This difference doesn't occur after disconnecting both from the mains. Based on this, I suppose that this is a design issue: companion stand by / power off mode is very different from master. I don't know if this behavior may generate different performance on master versus companion, after some years of usage... RE: 440 Pro warmer than 220 Pro - Even in Standby - markush - 23-Mar-2020 I got the same setup! Ethernet, wifi, Line in on Master and everything off on companion. Hm - or should companion have the identical setup as master? But that wouldn’t make sense for me. Though having a noticeable higher temperature also in stand by still keeps me wondering. RE: 440 Pro warmer than 220 Pro - Even in Standby - Jean-Marie - 23-Mar-2020 I seem to remember that if you use the trigger connection between the two in addition to the digital (I assume trigger out from master -> trigger in on slave) it lowers the temperature of the slave (which is understandable because the slave can enter a deeper standby mode). This is very useful information. Thanks! RE: 440 Pro warmer than 220 Pro - Even in Standby - daniel.avasilichioaei - 23-Mar-2020 I just made some test on configurations with and without trigger cable. With trigger cable, startup on companion after stand by or power off is very different versus without cable. This is telling me that commands that master is sending to companion are different via digital versus via trigger cable. I'll perform additional tests, and then come back with updated info. Based on what I see now, I am expecting: - No changes for temperature during playback. - Possible changes for companion temperature during stand by and power off. ---> This will solve my issue. RE: 440 Pro warmer than 220 Pro - Even in Standby - daniel.avasilichioaei - 24-Mar-2020 I completed the test: I managed to equalize the master and companion temperature in stand by and power off modes. Important note: In order to obtain the above results, it is important configuration file for the companion to contain the settings written in blue in the attached file "Comparison.pdf":
