140 phono stage - Giubeca - 13-Jul-2020

Hi,
I’m curious To know If there is any difference in the phone stage for the different cartridges or it is only a matter of output level. In this case would be easy to use cartridges not in the list simply adjusting the right level.

Basic phono stage for higher output level. 140 for MM or relativ high level MC with 0,4 mV and more. Would recommend Clearaudio MM Jubilee or above MC Hana ML or MM Clearaudio Charisma or DS Audio E1 optical cart with it’s own phono pre.

My fav is the E 1

Ok, but the question is how to set the phono stage for a cartridge not listed. Have I to leave blank the drop down and fix only the sensitivity? In this case only MM cartridges can be used?

If the cart isn‘t on the list, then choose MM and level with the max or bit above of the max volume of your cart.
Which cart do you use?

Enable
AuoWifi off
Start up Curve RIAA 1976
96 kHz sampling rate

Short >> only sensivity

Shouldn’t the autowifi standby be switched to on? Supposedly the wifi interferes with the phonostage which degrades the output signal.

Yes, that’s correct. If you leave auto wifi standby in the off position you will hear an intermittent fluttering sound when using the phono input.

Don’t you think it is strange that the default setting is ‘off’?

Gold Note has a output = 4,0 mV. That value should you choose linke sensivity

Auto wifi off is the best figure. Otherwise you could earn interferences.
