Very comprehensive. Thank you for taking the trouble to list the steps. There is a post I made on Audiophile Style which is well answered by your post above

You can also install Roon Client on it and control it by using Roon UI(The server/Core app) on your Windows PC or another X86 machine etc. However, I prefer using Euphony OS(https://euphony-audio.com/) which is running directly on the RAM of another X86 Mac Mini. It is connected to Mercury Streamer over fiber optical network on which Gentooplayer  is run(directly on RAM) by using MPD, UpmpdCli protocols.

The second best option, in my point of view, (my favourite setup is still using Euphony(on RAM of X86 Mac Mini) as server and Gentooplayer-Mercury Streamer as UPMpdCli endpoint) that I recommend for you is using LMS on a separate PI4 device and connecting it to the Mercury Streamer over Ethernet switch which is running SqueezeLite-R2 on Gentooplayer.

In general, I can say that If you use a separate computer/machine for browsing your audio catalog(preferably NAS over network, USB hard drive etc) or online streaming services,  you will sure achieve better results than using/installing everything on a single machine.
