New update to Build 778 now installing on my Roon Nucleus+. The change log shows lots of fixes.

Roon is miles beyond Devialet when it comes to customer communication and their forums show that.  With that said, I really expected to see an update from Roon this past week.  My guess is that the beta testing revealed issues not yet fixed.  But unlike Devialet, we know they’re actively working on it.

Still, being dead in the water is unacceptable.  Unless you’re a lifetime customer, I hope they at least extend your license by however long your downtime is.

Yes, I am a life time customer, so it looks like they have zero intention to do anything for me.

The issue is finally fixed since yesterday.

My view differs from yours on this. Devialet has, as far as I know, never left a group of users without any solution to use the main function of their amp, which is to play music. I am fully aware about the many issues users, including myself, have experienced with various aspects of the Devialet, and I am in no way saying that Devialet is doing a good job.

But Roon has just left a group of users for 6 weeks without any solution to use the core function of their product.

Anyway discussing it here will not make any difference. Others and I have loudly expressed our dissatisfaction on the Roon forums, not just for ourselves, but for the sake of the whole Roon users community. They need to improve significantly the way they develop software and support their paying customers. And being a software professional I know exactly what I am talking about.

Cheers,
Bernard

@bernardl - Roon and Devialet are two very different companies with very different corporate mindsets, each with it’s own set of strengths and weaknesses. Regardless, being dead in the water for 6 weeks is unacceptable. I’ve seen the posts in the Roon forums and feel your pain. I never saw them acknowledge just how bad being totally dead in the water is (i.e. no music!). No idea how big their beta test community is but it clearly isn’t broad enough. Glad they finally got this problem sorted.

I thought it interesting that they did not mention Qobuz at all? I s there a relationship between Tidal and Roon?I prefer the sound of Qobuz, myself.
Roon works really well- if there were SQ advances to be made, that's really all I'm interested in...

I don't think there's a relationship between Tidal and Roon apart from the fact that Roon has access to the code necessary to enable them to integrate Tidal's catalogue data into Roon's display and they have that same kind of relationship with Qobuz. It's just that Tidal has apparently made some recent changes to their own app/interface and Roon has had to make changes in its app to accommodate those changes. Since Qobuz hasn't made any changes to its interface there was no need for Roon to do anything in respect of Qobuz.

SQ changes, especially advances, may be our primary concern but if you're using Roon to access a streaming service such as Tidal or Qobuz, then it is important for Roon to keep their app up to date with changes the streaming services make in relation to new features the streaming service introduces so that Roon users can continue to get all of the features the streaming service provides for accessing music via the service.
