USB input not working with ROON, Devialet Expert Pro 220 - disarmamant - 07-Jul-2024 I have been a Devialet owner since 2017, with both A 440 Expert Pro, and now just an Expert Pro 220. I have never used the USB input on the 220 Pro until today. I have ROON Rock running on an Intel NUC I7 which connects to the Devialet via Ethernet, it's been working like that for several years without issue. However the USB input does not work with ROON. The Devialet USB input appears as an audio device in ROON settings and I have enabled it in the settings. If I play a track from ROON the track progress bar advances, but there is no sound from the Devialet. I have the ROON setting for the USB input set to default. Is there something I'm missing here? I know the USB source from the NUC is working as I use it to an external Soncoz DAC which is in a second system setup. RE: USB input not working with ROON, Devialet Expert Pro 220 - daniel.avasilichioaei - 07-Jul-2024 Did you activate the USB input in the Devialet configuration and did you activate it in the Devialet menu? Sometimes a restart of all components (Roon Server and Devialet) helps. Yes, it's activated in the configurator. And it's enabled in the ROON setup menu. The USB input works with PiCore player running Squeezlite from a Rasberry PI4, However I get dropouts with HIres files, but its playing OK otherwise. Not sure what you mean by Devialet menu? RE: USB input not working with ROON, Devialet Expert Pro 220 - daniel.avasilichioaei - 07-Jul-2024 "Devialet menu" = selecting USB input as active in the Devialet menu using Devialet remote. Yes, USB input is selected on the Devialet. I also tried removing the SD card and trying it on the USB input in factory reset. Still no luck. Official USB ASIO Driveris are supported only for Windows and MacOS: You find the ASIO Drivers on the Devialet Support side. You are using roon Rock which uses Linux as OS. This is your issue. Linux in principle does not need a USB 2.0 Audio Driver (non ASIO). But if that works iwith roon Rock and Devialet I don't know. Devialet and roon Rock (Linux) prefer roon RAAT. IF you are installing roon on Win also Devialet AIR works as well as the Devialet USB ASIO Drivers. I also have LMS, Lyrion Media Server (Formally Logitech Media Server), running on a Linux Mint NUC i5 PC and a Raspberry Pi4 which runs PiCore Player to play files from the LMS. The PiCore Player on the rasberry Pi is also Liunx based, but It will play some files to the Devialet Expert via USB. However it it will not play 24/96 or 24/192 Flac files without dropouts. I have been in contact with Devialet support regarding the USB issue. But so far they have no answers. |
