Volume drops down to -97,5 db - MrJellyLord - 26-Jul-2024

Hi,
as soon as I start using the remote control (physical or digital) on my D220Pro, the volume drops down to -97,5dB.
Did a few hard resets, tried removing the batteries from the remote, etc... but the problem persists.
I contacted Devialet customer support, but so far they have not been of any help.
Thank you for your input and suggestions!

was it working before and you have not changed the configuration ?
Try to remove the SD card and power it on. Is it still showing this issue ?

You said you removed the batteries from the remote. Did you reinsert the batteries you removed or did you replace the batteries with new batteries before trying the remote again? I've had problems with my remote occasionally when the batteries are getting low so if you did not replace the batteries you removed with new batteries I would also try that as well as the suggestions that @Vivialet made.

Thank you for your help!
It was working fine for months. I haven't changed anything in the config.
I did a hard reset of the amp and of my router.
I replaced the batteries in the remote.
I shut down any device that might connect to the internet.
I reinstalled the latest firmware and started up the amp in factory configurations.
It all works fine, until I connect an ethernet cable and the problem reappears.
Very weird?

Read your thread!

Go back to the beginning and do what Vivialet suggests. Removing the SD card will cause the amp to work in factory settings only. If having done that, you still have the problem, I expect you have a fault on the remote circuit board. You will need to nag Devialet for a return and service.

When I owned a 220, my remote started to discharge batteries rapidly regardless of use. They were flat in ten days of no use. I negotiated a return of the remote to Devialet who replaced the circuit board free of charge which corrected the problem. Service was excellent and quick. Please give it a go.

If the problem only occurs if you connect the ethernet cable I don‘t think it is a remote issue.
Have you tried a different ethernet cable ? Wifi instead of ethernet ?

I'll ask a stupid question.

When you say "As soon as I start using the remote control (physical or digital)…the volume drops down to _97.5 dB" do you mean when you first turn the amp on with the remote control because turning the amp ones usually the first thing you do with the remote control?

If so, check the startup volume setting in your configuration file because -(&.5 dB is minimum volume for the amp and if you've got your startup volume configured to -97.5 db that's what you'll see. If the volume doesn't drop to -97.5 dB when you turn the amp on without the card in the slot and instead starts at -40 dB, that's the factory default setting and that would indicate that your problem may be the startup volume setting in your configuration file. Check your settings in the online Configurator and try making a new config file with the startup volume set to your preferred level and see if that solves the problem.

Sorry for the late reply. As I found out, it's a problem with the AIR driver on my MacBook Air. This problem only appeared after I upgraded to the newest Pro version. A bug? I will alert Devialet and ask if they can offer a solution, because it is very annoying...
