Still running Spark DOS1 192K 24bit - superstock - 08-Aug-2024

I know support for DOS1 has ended but the push to DOS 2 hasn't sat well with me.

I saw a table to say that UPNP on DOS 1 was not high Res, but when you upgrade to DOS 2 it would bring with it 96K Hi-Res playback.

In my world running both SPARK and UPNP through Audirvana 3.5,  I can stream Qobuz at 192K 24bit. With smooth playback on wired Dialog/SPARK but Audirvana a bit stuttery through WiFi but full wired connection it's fine.

Am I the only one a bit confused?

The official Devialet Website states difference between DOS1 SPARK and DOS2 is that only DOS Accepts high-resolution streams as input (via UPnP and Roon).

Well is that both Room and UPNP or either? Differences-between-DOS-1-DOS-2

I still use Devialet Dialog/DOS1 with two Phantoms. Files 24/192 will play that way although I don’t know how they are handled by the system.
With Audirvana Origin any file is playable…

That's a good point about how the system handles the signal and if there is any resolution lost in the distribution to each of the stereo phantoms.

I guess we'll never know for sure.

And yes it seems as though you can broadcast any resolution/format from Audirvana and it will play it.

Depends on your actual Phantom speaker some had a different chip which reduced to 96k if you can get 24/192 now you will be able to do the same on Dos2, I'm on the latest software and stream 24/192 Perfectly.
