Hello,
Before confirming my "major failure" estimate at €550, I wanted to make sure I’ve tried everything to restart my Phantom I Silver.
Here are the circumstances:
I have two Silver units in stereo. I updated them, and they were working without any issues. I turned them off through the Devialet app.
Since then, I have not been able to restart one of them.
I tried unplugging it for 30 seconds and then reconnecting it, but absolutely nothing happens.
There is no activity on the Phantom at all.
I find it unusual that I can’t restart my Devialet if it’s a software issue.
Is there truly no way, via TFTP or another method, to reinstall the firmware? (It would help if support offered the option to download firmware or anything other than charging €550 just for a 5-minute operation to reinstall an OS.) It was a gift, so I’ll probably go ahead with the repair, but this will definitely be the last Devialet product I buy.

You can try rescue mode. I did this recently when one of my phantoms didn’t update to the latest firmware. And yes it worked.
Here is the process:
Please perform the last resort: Rescue mode
1. Unplug your Phantom from the power.
2. Plug your Phantom into your internet router (LAN port) via an Ethernet cable. Wait for 10 seconds
3. Plug your Phantom into a power strip with an on/off button (if no on/off, please unplug it from the power socket directly)
3. Turn on the power strip for 7 seconds, then off for 3 seconds
4. Proceed to the "on/off" sequence 5 times consecutively
5. At the end of the 5 cycles, please turn the power on and keep it on.
At this time, your Phantom will be connecting to our server (with the woofers pulsating).
Let's wait for the Phantom to run the download of the latest firmware. It will then delete the problematic old firmware and install the new firmware.
This process could take up to 15 minutes. In some cases, this could take up to 2 hours.
Possible scenarios:
- if you hear 3 claps, it's ready! Please follow the APP (Devialet) to set it up
- if you miss the 3 claps, and the speaker has gone stationary (woofers stop moving), please press the back button 3 times quickly.
Please follow the APP (Devialet) to set it up
- if the woofers continue to move, please leave them overnight and check in the morning

For me it worked. But I downgraded the firmware. But after that I’ve upgraded to the latest firmware. It was a bit funky but worked. Good luck

Thank you for suggesting something, but it hasn’t changed anything—the woofers still don’t move, even after the procedure. Additionally, there’s no LAN activity, which suggests it could be an electrical issue. I never leave them on to avoid overheating. So, I’ll go ahead and send it back for repair.

I saw something very similar in about 2018 or 19, my phantom I (white) circa 'H' model season stopped responding after the reboot during the first reboot of the firmware update. (for some reason i recall there used to be multiple stages or reboots on the update)
Symptoms: no heat and no network activity
Solution was to replace it with a different unit. Devialet did the right thing in my case.
btw - don't think you need to worry about the speakers overheating - though i DO turn my H models (that run much hotter than the newer L > hardware's) off when not being used to conserve power because they are like little heaters
