my big surprise, I just visited the exhibition in Warsaw. Devialet has a presentation there of the new Astra Opera Paris.

I would go there with a measurement mic and Exper Pro to see the THD with REW. Would be amazing to compare the outcome. I bet if there is a comparison of Expert vs Astra they won’t be able to win any existing Expert customer to move to Astra.

Anyone with an upgrade itch who owned a Devialet for over 2 years, should have a medical checkup.

Hallo
Habe vor drei Wochen einen Astra geliefert bekommen.
An meiner Magico S 5 MK 2 angeschlossen und verglichen mit dem 250 Expert Pro muss ich sagen, dass der Astra um einiges besser klingt als der 250 Expert Pro.
Feiner Filigraner schneller raffinierter mehr Kontrolle im Bass.
Eine eiserne Faust im Samthandschuh.
Der Astra spielt mit einer sehr großen Ruhe, man hört nur noch zu anstatt da verlangen zu haben weiter zum nächsten Titel zu springen.
Ich habe mir demnach eine Dual Astra bestellt der seit vier Tagen bei mir spielt.
Eine sehr große Verbesserung in allen Bereichen.
So viel Energie und abartige Pegel sind ohne Mühe möglich.
Der Dual Astra spielt ohne zu komprimieren, keinerlei Sättigung im Klangbild.
Absoluter Traum Amp.

Do you have a mic to measure the response and do an a/b test? I think this is what we expected from the lower damping factor. It should be warmer and easier to listen to than analytical, if that's the right term. Or different terms - Expert is pro gear, while Astra is a high-end product. No surprise there, but I'm really curious how that warmth is reflected in the image because I expect Astra to add a lot more coloration to the sound than Expert based on the item's specs and what you're sharing confirms that.
And also I wouldn't compare the dual setup to single setup because for me there is a day and night difference in between 220 vs 440 for example. Mono amp is a whole different world, if you compare Dual Astra to 250 and if you think that the difference is huge you should see the difference of 250 vs 1000 too because that difference is also extreme in my setup.

I think, @Astra Dual has first compare a Single Astra with his 250 - and ordered the dual Astra afterwards…
