different amps for dual mono? - hsunung - 04-Nov-2024 I have a d-premier, and will get a 140 pro soon. Wanna try to use these two for dual mono. Put the sound quality aside(may be wierd but worth a shot), wondering if it will work? I will configure the max power of d-premier to the same of 140 pro. RE: different amps for dual mono? - ada - 04-Nov-2024 Even if it works I would expect some tonal difference because of different noise, harmonic etc that won’t help you to keep the listening experience balanced. Only feasible option I see is biamping if your speakers allow it. Bass from one amp, mid/treble from the other. That setup should be more worry free in theory but then amps won’t perform as dual mono. RE: different amps for dual mono? - hsunung - 05-Nov-2024 Thank you. Biamping would totally make sence. Unfortunately my speakers don't have it. RE: different amps for dual mono? - Fornix - 22-Nov-2024 I actually did that with a 200 and 250 a few years back. Reduced the 250 to max 400 watt and it worked just like a d400. The sound of the amps is not identical so I would not recommend it but it works. |
