Expert 140 and vinyl (MC) - mister.methano - 06-Dec-2024 Hello, I'm new to the forum and would like to share my first impressions of the Devialet with you. I retired my older Yamaha integrated amplifier (A-S2000) a few weeks ago and now have a Devialet Expert 140 Pro here. My first impression of the sound was already very good, but I also like the other functions, especially SAM and the many customization options for the configuration and of course the Devialet all-in-one strategy. I listen almost exclusively to vinyl via a MuFi m6 Vinyl phono preamplifier (MC). However, as I want to reduce the number of devices, I have started to test the MC-Devialet phono section. The good news is that the hiss with MC is absolutely ok for me. The bass seems a bit thinner, but is more than compensated for by SAM. Apart from that, I can't detect any real differences between the phono sections. The bad news is that I can hear several disturbing noises with the Devialet phono section: 1. a clocked noise, most likely from the WiFi. There are days when it is only audible at a very high volume, but today it was already present at -40dB. The only solution here is to completely deactivate the WiFi in the Devialet configuration. The WiFi stand-by function in the configuration does not help here. Basically, the Devialet WiFi function doesn't seem to be really stable. There are days when I first have to unplug/plug in the mains plug to get the Devialet to connect to the WiFi. 2. irregularly occurring ticks (always two in a row, approx. 1 second apart, then a pause of several seconds). As these ticks have only appeared since today, I will first check whether a new device is in operation in the neighborhood. The above-mentioned noises never occurred with my previous combination (Yamaha A-S200/MuFi m6 Vinyl or MuFi m6 Vinyl with Devialet line in). Could it be that I have overlooked something in the configuration that could be the cause of the noise? Are there any known solutions in the forum? Greetings Jürgen Translated with DeepL RE: Expert 140 and vinyl (MC) - mister.methano - 07-Dec-2024 Hello, I'll just answer myself. Since the solution with the WiFi stand-by during phono not working properly, I now simply have 2 SD cards. 1x with WiFi and 1x completely without WiFi. It's a shame that Devialet can't get to grips with these little things. Greetings Jürgen |
