Phantom theatre - Radoomm - 01-Feb-2025 Hi Everyone Can you help me understand the cuctoms Can i connect directly my Arcam AV41 using euroblock cable/connector. Is plug and play or some software is needed Thank you in advance RE: Phantom theatre - booshtukka - 02-Feb-2025 You shouldn’t need software if you have an XLR > AES/EBU adapter but I’ve only explored the customs with Dante. Interested to know how you get on! Thank you for your help Can you tell me if dante will work with my Arcam AV41 If yes how do you set up dante no idea what i need Thx RE: Phantom theatre - booshtukka - 02-Feb-2025 Your box doesn’t support Dante - Dante sends digital signals over Ethernet, but your box is analogue. You could either put an XLR > Dante converter on every channel you want to use which I know others have had success with (like this https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/audio-converters/dante-avio-analog-input-2x0-xlr-to-dante-adapter?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=17865987110&utm_term=&adgroup=&creative=&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=ADC_UK_PMAX_bucket3&utm_id=17865987110&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADzuj1eDjs9xs-FnrhmPMPLC8dOwO&gclid=CjwKCAiAzPy8BhBoEiwAbnM9OyuUEGZfMr-hDGVYckr7z1q2UQ8LuYwrkdYsk6pV8IQqNrPm6UFN4RoC3TAQAvD_BwE) or explore what I’d mentioned above. Unfortunately I don’t know too much about AES/EBU but my basic reading up on it suggests this is also for digital signals and your box doesn’t support it. So actually I think my previous advice was incorrect. RE: Phantom theatre - booshtukka - 02-Feb-2025 Basically your Arcam (which looks lovely) outputs analogue signals, and your Phantom II customs expect a digital input, so you need a converter in their somewhere. RE: Phantom theatre - ogs - 07-Feb-2025 @Radoomm . @booshtukka I think Customs can use either balanced analog or AES/EBU digital. The 41 has balanced analog line outputs so this should work. RE: Phantom theatre - booshtukka - 08-Feb-2025 @ogs looks like you’re right: https://www.devialet.com/media/dvl_media/CI-TechGuide-PHANTOM_II-CUSTOM.pdf?srsltid=AfmBOor7iPtrPNx7LvPuhSO9uCHvwNJ5YTFeqv-N9qrNWorBfwWGK8sE RE: Phantom theatre - Feelip - 10-Feb-2025 Funnily, I am using a Chord Hugo 2 feeding into a Euroblock into a pair of Reactor Customs from my PC input via USB and my TV from Optical. The output into the Customs is through the 6.35mm audio jack of the Hugo 2. I can control the volume of the speakers using the Hugo 2 remote and this setup works perfectly. RE: Phantom theatre - ogs - 12-Feb-2025 @Feelip I suggest you connect the Customs to the line out (L & R rca) of the Hugo 2. This will be a better match for both the Hugo and Customs and may even give better sound quality. The 6.35 mm (and the 3.5 mm) is for headphones and uses an additional amplifier stage compared to line out. Volume control should be the same for both, but be careful to test before you start to use. |
