first impressions - new Dione - radoo - 04-Mar-2025
Just got a new Dione, after pondering between the Devialet and the other usual suspects when it comes to high-end soundbars.
Decided to risk it with the peace of mind that I could return it within 2 weeks of purchase date.
However, based on the initial tests and usage, it looks like i have none of the issues described in these forums.
Here's my (short, so far) experience with it:
- quick and simple to setup
- no issues with wireless connectivity
- eARC works perfectly so far with my LG OLED tv, both for movie streaming as well as music listening via YT Music
- BT had some initial issues connecting, but looks like it's stabilized for now
- no issue with losing hdmi connection to the tv
- no hissing issue when playing music (noticed the hissing on the unit the seller had in the showroom, they knew and confirmed they kept a defective one in the showroom)
- the unit had the latest firmware preinstalled (hopefully from the factory, it didn't looked like the package was opened)
- bass seems ok, couldn't notice under/over levels
- surround sound is not a feature to look for, still have to figure out how to use the "spatial" feature, but it "fills" the room nicely (~30 sqm square room)
Some subjective impressions:
- music and movie sound is exceptional, playing the initial minutes of Dune 1 from Max was a theater-like experience
- casting from google services would have been a great feature (chromecast)
