USB Port Not Operational - AdamEOS - 16-Apr-2025

Hi folks, its been a while.

I’m still loving my Expert Pro 220 CI and after several years I just haven’t found something that is better overall. One of the keys to this exemplary performance is SAM. The way it make the soundstage more organized and intelligible, well it is hard to beat. Also, that transparency / clarity is addictive. Very neutral yet highly dynamic sound also.

The purpose for this post it to report that my USB input no longer works. This has forced me to use S/PDIF Coax. I suspect a short on that board somewhere, but i thought you guys could shed some light on the problem. I have tried multiple devices and multiple USB cables to eliminate those being the source of the issue. I was wondering if perhaps there is a fuse internally specific for the USB? 

As an aside, does Devialet provide a replacement polished chassis cover, as mine looks less that perfect with swirl marks etc.?

I think your best option is to talk to Devialet about the USB port. The inputs on Devialet share a common board and are digitally managed to switch between them based on inputs from the remote. If the USB port is not working while the others do, it could just be a problem with the port itself.

Regarding the case piece, when I previously talked to Devialet about maintenance or replacement, the only thing they offered was to put my Expert into a completely new case. However, I didn't like the color and matte finish of the new Experts, so I declined.

Thanks for your insight. I suspected as much. I will reach out to Devialet tech support. May i ask what the price is for the new case they offered?

If you haven't already done this you might check the configurator to be sure the USB is selected not off.
