Suddenly lost Dolby Atmos, 5:1, Dolby Digital anymore; only “Audio Stream” suddenly - splitsecond - 02-Aug-2025

For a while, Dione stopped playing all formats but “Audio Stream” only. As I have tried a number of things including updates and resetting everything, I am becoming pretty desperate. I’ve asked Devialet support and they said they have escalated the issue, but I haven’t heard back for days since. The Dione is under warranty (half a year old) and and I even purchased the 5y extension. The soundbar looks like it’s in pristine condition, it sits there like a shrine under our TV and we treat it like raw eggs.

It used to play Atmos from Streaming Apps and Apple Music reliably, as well as streaming content in 5:1 and DD, for months on end and I can’t recall any “incident” when it stopped doing to.

I’ve reset the Dione to factory settings several times, also my 65OLED/809 Philips TV, my Apple TV 4K 3rd Gen, updated the TV to the latest software, Apple TV to 18.6, the Dione is at 2.18.6 for a while now. Un- and replugged all cables from all devices. I had not changed cabling configuration or the hardware when the Dione stopped playing multichannel audio.

I have toggled and experimented with Audio settings on Apple TV and the TV, nothing helps. Atmos, 5:1, Digital just don’t come back. I’ve tried playing Dolby Atmos content from the Philips TV apps directly as well, Disney and Netflix, same result.

All but stereo sound is gone.

Hello everyone,
I'm having the exact same issue (case #725697), which in my case is even broader. After the June firmware update, my Dione stopped correctly decoding not only Dolby Atmos but also other key surround sound formats. I am going through the same frustrating process with Devialet support.
Even though I reported a broader issue, the support team, in their official response on June 30th, focused only on Atmos. Let me quote the key part of their original message to show the scale of their (unfulfilled) promises:

"The issue with Dolby Atmos not functioning correctly after the latest firmware update has been identified and our technical team is actively working on a resolution. This is our top priority, and we are dedicating all necessary resources to developing a stable fix. [...] Please be assured that we are taking this very seriously."

After such assurances, I waited patiently. More than two months have passed. A week ago, after I inquired about the status, I received a shocking, one-sentence reply that there will be no update. Since then, they have been ignoring my requests for an explanation.
It seems the company has a serious software problem and is knowingly misleading its customers. It's a good thing this thread was started.

Unfortunately, this has always been the case for all their product lines. They have never been able to keep any promises on any product line, and as of today, I am not sure if they have any products without glitches or hardware/software issues. I am their customer, but I am unhappy and have decided to invest in other brands. They could have won me over for smart speakers, portable speakers, and headphones, but they didn't even bother to compete with Expert, so I decided to go in a different direction. Devialet deserves their current position unfortunately, because their pride makes them blind to their customers' voices.

As a new Dione owner, if the content is say Dolby Atmos or 5.1, does Dione App display that audio input is indeed Dolby Atmos or 5.1? Sorry I am just asking when you say Dolby Atmos disappeared - apart from the audible difference you may have noticed, does Dione App confirms it too ? 

On mine it’s only AUDIOSTREAM! - although I have tried playing 5.1 and Dolby Digital Plus content! 
Let me know please. 

Another issue I have with my Dione is that while it easily connects to my Philips 55OLED803, never turns off even when TV is turned off. So then I enabled the new Power Off mode to 5 minutes, yet the Dione wouldn’t power off automatically! 

Don’t know what to do - waiting for the customer support to respond.

Hi,
I completely understand your questions and frustration. I'm going through the exact same thing and wanted to reply based on my experiences from before the latest update.
Answering your question about the app and audio formats: Yes, you are absolutely right. Before this unfortunate update, the Devialet app clearly displayed the input signal format. When I played Dolby Atmos content, the app would show "Dolby Atmos." The same was true for "Dolby Digital+" or "LPCM." For me, these labels were only visible when the signal was coming through the HDMI port.
The fact that you now only see "AUDIOSTREAM!" is, unfortunately, the new, problematic reality for many of us. You're not alone, and it's not your TV's or your settings' fault.
Most importantly—and this answers your second question—it's not just a problem with the label displayed in the app. The difference in sound quality is absolutely audible and, unfortunately, colossal. The sound in Dolby Atmos before the update was incredibly spatial and immersive. Even standard LPCM 5.1 sounded much better. Now, although the soundbar still plays audio, the sound is flat, lacking the "magic" and detail we paid for. The situation is terrible right now. The hardware works, but the performance is just not the same.
As for the power issue: The fact that your Dione doesn't turn off with your Philips TV (despite active HDMI-CEC) and ignores the 5-minute auto-off setting also looks like a firmware bug. It's another feature that has stopped working correctly. Waiting for a response from customer support is the only thing we can do right now, although unfortunately, Devialet has been silent on the matter so far.
It's very disappointing that customers who spent a significant amount of money are being treated this way. New Dione owners might not even realize that their equipment isn't performing to its full potential. Let's hope the company responds soon and releases a corrective update.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to share an important update on our issue. It seems Devialet has finally released a new firmware version that solves the problems we've all been writing about here.
I can confirm that after the update, my Dione is once again decoding audio correctly, including Dolby Atmos. The app is again displaying the correct format name ("Dolby Atmos," "Dolby Digital+," etc.), and most importantly, the spatial sound quality is back. The hardware is finally working as it should.
I'm glad the technical problem has been solved, however, the months of silence, ignored inquiries, and unfulfilled promises from customer support have left their mark. This whole situation has taught me a bitter but valuable lesson: in the world of luxury goods, you discover a brand's true value not at the moment of purchase, but precisely when a problem arises.
The product is working again, but my trust in the company as a premium brand has been seriously undermined. Thank you to everyone for sharing your experiences in this thread.

Thanks @Adam_Adam . My Dione started decoding and displaying the audio correctly! I don’t recollect having updated the software and it still remains version 2.18.6

The AutoOff still doesn’t get activated - hopefully I’ll wait for the software update.
