Unassemble a Phantom I? How to? - mvrlondon - 29-Dec-2025

I have a Phantom I that is 9 years old.

Long past warranty of course and it has completely died.  Won't power up at all.

It's not worth paying Devialet to repair so I thought I'd see if it's something I can fix (hopefully just a loose power connection internally!)

Anyone have any idea about opening one up?

Since if I can't fix it it will go in the bin, there's no risk in trying.

Hi.
See my thread in my signature on how to disassemble a Phantom. It's all mounted on two PCBs, so you'll have to know SMD soldering to fix it. Good luck!

Thanks!

Just what I was looking for.

In your travels with this, did you see if there was an easier way to get to just the power side? Access to the fuses?

Cheers

Glad to help! To access the fuses you'll have to disassemble the right woofer, I believe, looking at the front of the speaker. Remove the PCB, loosen the mains PCB and check the fuses. I've never seen any blown fuses before, but you never know.

Opened it up using the details in your post

Same component was blown as in yours.

So now going to be sent to the electronics recyling center.

You should try selling it as parts. The tweeter, mid and woofers are probably ok, the same with the rest of the PCBs. I would buy it if you were located closer.

Didn't think about that. Will do as you suggest.

Thanks again
