Good for future SSD based NAS drive market to expand, and potential Network player to integrate these to further discard NAS drive for some.

Interesting. It is just about time SDD prices fall down like normal HDD. Maybe the new 3D NAND won't be cheap but at least it will render current SDD with their current capacities relatively cheaper

Daft question maybe but if we all have our CD collection on normal NAS drives now will it be easy to transfer them to the new SDD drives.

At present i have a NAS drive and a back up too, both HDD and some of the new network players now incorporate the hard drives in them now, so often wondered how this would work.

If its a good NAS and you have set up at least RAID 1 (mirroring) replacing 1 drive at a time and letting the array rebuild itself should work I would think, you would need to make sure the replacement SSD was at least as much capacity as the HD it was replacing though.

Think if you buy an external USB HDD and copy the whole thing over, replace the HDD with SSD, copy the whole thing back will be easier. You could use the USB HDD as extra backup capacity.

Correct!. Actually i just picked first three which appeared on the google search. There are many sites which describe upto 10TB and upcoming beyond 10TB. The SSD NAS market is indeed flourishing Smile . With so much integration happening, hope the prices go down.

I guese its not far where high ends N100/N1A or other network streamers to have them integrated and our external HDD NAS should only serve as a back up or other video purposes etc.
