ROON
#31
By default your iTunes library is a "watched" folder that is read but not reorganized.  There is an "organized" option where you could presumably add it manually, but that might screw up iTunes (don't use it so I don't know).  See also here.

Does anyone know if Roon can read iTunes metadata? Not just track names etc, but also track ratings and / or playlists?

Yes, Roon will import playlists from the iTunes folder in /user/music/itunes (but only that one).  Roon doesn't have a rating system per se, although there are "favourite" and "ban" switches.

I tried out Roon last night. The tidal integration is awesome.

I'm missing the iPad app and want the app to use my Album Artist tags (future update), but from the speed in which things have been coming I have no problem buying a lifetime version right now.

I believe we must email Devialet and request hardware integration with Roon right now, hoping next year it will be provided.

I assume you mean RoonSpeaker support as in a renderer for the roon software running else where?

What would be the advantage over Air from a remote computer or having the Devialet plugged into a computer (USB) running roon host software?

Only advantage I see is a partnership where the awesome Roon software being marketed with beautiful Devialet hardware a definite win for Devialet. For Roon more exposure with a hardware vendor partnered I guess.

As Roon have talked with Devialet and signed an NDA with them and I think Danny at Roon uses a Devialet it may be happening anyway.

They seem to be going around singing NDAs with everyone. Let's hope this does not mean lack of direction.
