What album are you listening tonight?
Ibibio Sound Machine eponymous first album (Qobuz)

A new band to me - really enjoyed seeing them play a couple of excellent tracks from their later album "Uyai" on Jools Holland's Later (BBC TV) last night.  As far as I can see, that album hasn't made it onto Qobuz yet.

(By the way, 10cc were also completely excellent, I thought!  Sounded rather like a UK Steely Dan.)

Not a bad weekend - saw Sasha at the Barbican Saturday - doing half Scene|Delete and half older stuff. String section, percussion, synths, keyboards and vocalists.

Then discover this. Smile

Jaco Pastorius; Truth, Liberty and Soul. Live in NYC. 192/24

Not much to say, actually, but simply stunning. The recording is wonderful, the music more so, and they guy is (as we all know) simply beyond belief... at the same time it was new to me as this is recorded with Word of Mouth, his "big band", mainly a top-notch wind section, no less than 15 musicians there. Simply unmissable.
