It seems that there are a lot of SAMv2-related problems in the configurator at the moment. It's very frustrating that Devialet leave it to each of us to discover and report them independently.

When I receive the response early next week from Devialet, I'll pass it on. This is the first time I've tried usng SAM and thought I'd try with my new speakers before deciding to keep or sell the D400's. There's a vast improvement from my previous ML Montis, but still not equal to the previous sound I had from W/P8 and Audio Research Ref. amps, pre and phono.

My config file is very simple, I only use the line and USB inuputs, all the others being turned off, volume set at -35 at switch on, no subsonic filter and SAM activated set as Sasha 2 (or not on a separate card which I am using now)
There is nothing activated on the companion except the link between the two and the speakers, and this is the channel that works when SAM is switched on!

what i was hoping to see was whether sam has actually enabled in your system file or not even if you have enabled it through the configurator.

I'm unable to answer that sorry, I have attached the config file I sent to Devialet (SAM part only), and as far as I can tell, it is enabled not sure if it will help you.

The weird thing is that I have the same speakers and SAM works fine, the only difference being that I use an 800 instead of a 400. I also recently created a new config file when I installed 8.1.3 beta a few weeks ago. I guess it's possible that a more recent iteration of the configurator is causing issues.

I might test this later today with a new config and report back.

Thanks for the update. Maybe your config is an older SAM? Unfortunately, I first used with 8.1.3, so maybe retrospectively with the original SAM it would be fine?

Well I generated a new config after loading up 8.1.3 beta... the only difference between 8.1.3 and 8.1.3 beta is the ihm file so shouldn't affect SAM.

My guess is that something has happened to the configurator since I last did my config (which would have been before the official release of 8.1.3).

I seem to recall that when installing V8.1, a message was displayed in my D400 display windows stating that new configurator files should be raised, as old files would not work - not sure if this is relevant to this case, but, as I understand it, the new files were to take account of new SAM profiling.

Hi David,

Mine just came up with the name of the config file I'd chosen.
It is a bit bafling how it works with some and not others, they should all do one thing or the other....

Hopefully this will be resolved by Devialet next week and I can finally see if it was worth the wait and hassle!!
