If your source has AES and spdif , do yourself a favour and directly compare them on the devialet.. very easy to do
on my system the AES is quite different and not in a good way.. a little dulled compared to spdif
I use a miniDSP ddrc 22 dirac box which has optical , aes/ebu and spdif outputs ..all live
Roon/tidal > Squeezebox touch  > Trinnov St2 or DIRAC (minidsp ddrc-22d) > Dual mono D premiers > Vivid Audio Giya G1 Spirits  ...fully treated  dedicated 6x8m room

I totally disagree with the above. In my chain I have never found a SPDIF which sounds better then my Oyaide AR-910 XLR-AES. In fact no SPDIF even comes close. But I am using D800, not a D-Premier. Maybe this is the subject, latest hardware compard to the initial hardware.....

I really like my AudioQuest Wild Digital Audio AES/EBU Cable, but it retails 2x your budget. I suggest scouting for a used/preowned one.

Furutech is always a solid recommendation as well.

I tried some months ago several AES/EBU cables and found that there were obvious differences between them:
Two different versions of Mogami were the worse. DH Labs D-110 and Acoustic Zen MC2 were somewhat better but had quite different sound signature. Kimber Kable Orchid was better but I tried also a simple DIY cable and that was the best.
That DIY cable is based on http://www.venhaus1.com/aesebu.html. It uses just a single 24awg twisted and bonded pair extracted from a Belden 1874A Cat5 cable. As that pair is bonded teflon it maintains much more a constant spacing and therefore constant impedance than simple twisted wires. I used Xhadow XLR connectors (which do not require soldering) and there is no shield or ground/earth connection. I also did not use any additional tubing, coverings as they made the cable sound worse.

I think one superb cable to try is Wireworld Platinum which may bust your budget.

On the other hand, I use Cardas Clear Light, which is very good and is within your budget.

Good luck!
