Thanks Markus,
I am interested in the above point. I have a pair of SF Amati Futura and a D-250 expert and I am trying to figure out where to spend my money:  upgrading to 250Pro, to 800 or to 250 Pro and eventually 1000Pro (through second hand 250 and then update). It would  be most valuable for me to get your impression of the Amati
thanks
Marco
Marco,
Everything I do with my audio chain seems to be more pronounced on the Magico V2s. They are brutally honest and have an almost monitor like feelin - while keeping the musical balanced. That does not mean they are necessarily the better speakers, For Jazz, classical opera and and large settings I prefer the Sonus Faber amati Futura.

For the sSonus Faber the jump in quality going dual mono is a big one if you need to decide in between d250pro or d800 I would clearly favor the D800 and reconsidering before year end to sell your mother in law to fund the upgrade to the d1000pro.
Bricasti M1 SE DAC -> Pass labs XP30 & XP25 phono -> Bryston B28sst2 -> Sonus Faber Amati Futura  -> JRiver MC 21 -> Synology NAS / Quboz  - Denon DP 7000 SME 5012
D1000pro -> Magico V2 -> Fanless NUC i5 (Broadwell) -> Jriver MC 21/ Bauer DPS3i / Lyra Kleos

Guillaume

If true this means the OS board is going to be absolutely epic! Shy

No, it is just, that there will be an OS board at all Big Grin
As they do not know yet, what it will do Tongue

Thanks for this very interesting review.
Could you kindly precise the firmware version of the OdA ?
Thanks in advance.

10.05 on both

Thank you so much Markus. But are you using the same set of config on both machines, since you mentioned the 1000Pro sounded a tad louder than OdA, the original power output of OdA was 900W, could it be the reason?

Exactly the same configuration and both machines configured to 1000W. This is not a big problem but for AB it needed to be carefully leveled out.
