Tidal Master Audio has gone Live

I'm using the desktop app on PC with AIR, should I let Tidal decode or not? Sorry, might be a stupid question. Does Devialet support MQA?

Let the desktop app decode.  Devialet doesn't decode MQA.

I see, thank you!

But are you guys seeing 24/44.1? I'm seeing mostly 24/96 och 24/88.1 when running it through AIR.

That's what you want.  You see 24/88.2 and 24/96 when software decoded.

So how would one do to acually hear proper MQA decoding with a Devialet amp? Would you have to put the decoder before the analog in?

In a way, yes and no. You could put an MQA DAC in front of the Devialet. But then you're technically missing the point of MQA where the decoding is supposed to be done in the DAC you're listening to. And with the Devialet converting everything to PCM and then back to analog this doesn't work as per the rule book. Still, the Devialet ADC/DAC should be transparent enough to show some improvement. I wouldn't buy an MQA DAC though. just let Tidal desktop do the conversion.
