Hi

The Diapason is a versatile speaker, so far I have driven it by the JC Verdiers 845 monos (15W Class A *2) and the Symphonic Line Kraftwerk Mk II (180W AB *2) before. Both deliver good results in terms of musicality and wide soundstage. I think the strength of the speaker lies in the 3D sound stage reproduction and it could easily disappear in your living room. Built quality is second to none as it is made of solid wood pieces by pieces against MDF by other producers. The diamond shape did have some acoustical effect remove standing wave and etc. Crossover is simple therefore won't suck up most of the power from amplifiers. The latest available is 25th Anniversary version which have more angles replicating its flagship bookshelf model Astera and the connector has upgraded to single wire WBT nextgen.

Contendor at this price level you could consider Rosso Feorentino Fiesole
also from Italy.

Beautifully handcrafted in Firenze, also featured with a supper tweeter which could give you more top end extentions. Size is bigger than the Diapasons but personally a bit sensitive to metallic drivers so I go for Diapason. See whether it is available in your country.

I will also recommend Penaudio Cenya or Cenya Signature from Finland

http://www.penaudio.fi/

Size is more compact against the above speakers, it is also built by solid wood but with a conventional shoe box shape. Haven't listened to this but have experience with another model Charisma which is also a musical speaker slightly less warm than the Diapason. One advantage of the Cenya is that it could already match with the Devialet through SAM.

If you have a deeper pocket, I think Franco Serblin's Accordo would sound really nice.
