Dual Phantom setup: how long did it take you?
#1
Hi there,

First post. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I have watched Devialet's video and (obviously) the setup with Dialog is shown as very user friendly.

What has been your experience?
Thank you.

Two is easy. Wait till you try setting up more than 2 in multiple rooms
Current: Phantom Silvers, Oppo 105D (Toslink), Raspberry Pi + Digi+, ROON
Pre-Phantom: PenAudio Rebel2, Nuforce MCH-2C5, Oppo 105D (Analog)

Setup usually take around 2 minutes if you have ethernet cable and router ready.

Setting up 3 Phantoms is almost as easy as to set up 2, given that you have one power network without surge protectors. In this case the built-in PLC system reliefs you from all headaches about wifi signal strenght or network cabling. The effort is almost linear with the number of Phantoms, maybe until you have 5. You need to walk a bit around to touch/caress them during setup. That's all Smile
For more than 5 Phantoms I can imagine that you start to get bandwidth problems with multiple hires streams.

Streaky: there is a quote on Tidal's web site:
HiFi - Lossless FLAC: 16bit / 44.1 KHz 1411Kbps FLAC Files on average will consume about 10MB of data per minute of content.

10mb/minute (even 100mb/minute) is nothing even for a 100mbps network, which can give you 600MB per minute, so network is not really an issue.
