Difference between Gold & Silver?
#11
I recently upgraded from Silver to Gold (I also have a solo white) and I think the sound improvement is noticeable. The bass is more controlled, and precise, and less boomy. It is in no way lacking in punch. You still feel it as much, and in some ways more, because it's not filling the space so much as punching through it. The other main improvement I've found is that the separation and spatial imaging occurs at lower volumes with the Gold. So you don't have to turn them up as much to experience a rich sound. Perhaps that is the improved tweeter, but I'm not sure. I just know that I'm very happy that I upgraded. I feared I wouldn't be, so it's a relief as well as a pleasure.

I also switched from silver to gold and it was a similar step as the upgrade from expert to expert pro. I can confirm what eggman wrote and I also enjoy the clearer image and the stronger substance e.g. of a piano on lower volume levels.
Is it worth the money? If it doesn’t hurt than definitely yes.
