Pink Floyd Exhibition
#1
I went up to town yesterday and saw the Pink Floyd Exhibition "Their Mortal Remains" at the Victoria and Albert Museum. I spent a couple of hours in there looking at exhibits such as instruments and stage gear, video screens etc.  They supply you with headphones, which as you move near to the many monitors showing video clips, will play the sound associated with it. At the end you are shown into a room which, on all four sides are projected a couple of stage performances. I worked out where the speakers were located and plonked myself down in the sweet spot. The sound reproduction gear features Atmos peakers which give height to the sound, along with sub woofers for bottom end grunt. The music sounded really good through this system. They've added a couple of weeks to the schedule, so it now runs until Sunday 15th October. Best £20 I've spent in a long while, and I recommend that you give it a go.

Absolutely. I went to this back in June, and in about 1 hour I am jumping on the train to London for a second visit. I totally agree with you - this is a must for anyone with an interest in the whole Pink Floyd story.

I would advise anyone going along to plan for 3-4 hours inside, and you still won't see everything!

Yesterday, my  wife and I went to the cinema to see the concert that David Gilmour and his band put on at Pompeii. It was utterly superb proving the man a musical genius. The light show took advantage of the phenomenal surroundings at the amphitheatre and was simply extraordinary.

I've ordered the BluRay, which comes out at the end of the month. I thought it might be a good 'un, as your report confirms.

14.03.1970 Pink Floyd in Nürnberg!
The province became a rock paradise. Entire busloads from Munich, including the former APO-Star Rainer Langhans and Uschi Obermeier, pushed themselves to the "Nürnberger Meistersingerhalle" to the concert of Pink Floyd, which saved Munich on their tour of Germany!

My wife and I went there during august. 3 hours of pure delight. When you put the headphone on, you are straight away inside the thing. Lot of good things to see and stories to hear... A must see, I confirm.

Hopefully not going too far off topic...last night I saw the Darkside Pink Floyd show, which was great fun and very impressive.  More dates (UK only as far as I can see) on their web site -- highly recommended.

Thanks for the heads up, Thumb. Wasn't even aware of the existence of this band until today. The Australian Pink Floyd are a great experience too.
I think the chances of us seeing the real deal play again are pretty slim. The band died with Rick Wright. They might do a one off a la Led Zeppelin, but that's not much good to anybody but the lucky bleeders who manage to get a ticket. Very doubtful that it will happen though, and I think Dave, sorry David Gilmour has said as much.
The more quality tribute bands the better!

I'm so jealous, Axel. I would love to see that exhibition. Unfortunately I'm no where near the area.
You can do more with HGH-X2 in the gym.

I understand that the exhibition may go on tour to several other countries so you may be lucky.
