Best bit I can rotate fully 180 degrees so I can listen either side of the open plan partition
Hopefully these pics work!

Managed to get them both up finally - just found a joist in nick of time for the right one!!! Would have liked it a couple of inches further in but hey ho!

Oh and they changed colour too - that and the brackets, probably the most satisfying objective I have achieved in my whole life Smile

Yes, this is very elegant. Would you mind sharing who fabricated this and whether he would be willing to make and ship. I am going to float this by my wife. We have been negoiatinging where to place our Golds. The usual best for sound vs where they look best visually in her opinion. Want to keep her happy, but also want to get the sound I paid for. The audiophiles dilemma.
Also looks like the power cord is hanging on the right bit not the left. Can the power cord be run internally?

Here's his website - please mention me when you contact him he will remember me from the amount of time we spent discussing it, and know what you are talking about when you mention the Phantoms Smile

It is a hollow down tube so no reason you couldn't ask him to drill a hole top and bottom but would have meant taking off plugs and stuff so I didn't bother - just taped the cable up the tube and along the ceiling edge and back down to the floor behind the partition. Just haven't got round to it on the left yet

The main bit needed is the part that bolts onto the Gecko Base plate. Once you have that he can design it depending on where you want it (back wall / side wall / ceiling etc)

Mine were originally designed with the 2 top holes to go into a joist - but in the end the benefit of turning 90 meant at the bottom I could rotate the phantom in the 180 direction I needed. Didn't really plan for that! Smile

Let me know if you want any close ups
Cheers

Hi,

I would love some close ups! If you could post them, it would be excellent!

Really nice photos! Maybe it is due to sleep deprivation getting our Christmas cards out, but it occurred to me that if you painted the mid woofers just right, it would look like a pair of naked eyeballs staring down at your guests with that filigreed pupil....Smile

I actually thought, for some moments, of painting the white bass dome like Captain America's shield.

I know...I'm about to be booted of this forum...Smile

Merry Christmas all!

Close ups - showing the bottom bracket that the gecko plate slots into and then a bolt drops down through the attachment and into a threaded hole on the bottom so it can be tightened once in position although it doesn't really need it as the weight of the gecko means it doesn't move around freely anyway

Then a 2 inch square hollow metal tube to the ceiling with a plate and 2 holes far enough apart so as not to split the wood if going into a beam. I decided to put mine sideways therefore only one goes into a joist and it's plenty to be honest if you use a 10cm long 10mm coach screw

I just put another bolt through the plasterboard anyway, doesn't add strength but help it stop moving laterally I guess when swinging the phantoms around

Pics attached hope it helps
