That’s all fine. The difference only becomes apparent when you have the right equipment. What I read so far is that Spotify uses different file formats for different receivers. For google chromecast audio it is 256k aac, for streaming it to the PC app and the smartphone apps it is 320k ogg. I understand that Spotify adapts the stream to the recipient, apparently chromecast can not decode the ogg format. Of course lossless is the preferred format as it is already almost 35 years available and in terms of bandwidth does not demand more than video streams that are common business.
