As a point of clarification, I sold my Monaro in 2010 and now drive a more respectable European built vehicle.  At worst, this makes me an Ex-Bogan.  Angel  However, Mr @Celts88 , it would appear that you have married a Bogan. Huh

Joking aside, in many respects it was not a particularly good car, deeply flawed and not particularly good build quality.  It was however enormous fun to drive and I do miss it.  Although some in SE England may recall the freak snowstorm that we had one afternoon in December 2009.  In a 6 litre RWD car that was reluctant to go in a straight line in the dry, that was one drive home from work I will never forget!

Deeply flawed. That sounds like a Holden to me. There's a reason why there's no automobile industry left in Australia. Tongue

Getting this thread vaguely back on topic, or at least to things French, I see the Alpine A110 has made it to PistonHeads favorite cars of the year list.

See extract below, which at least tells us that a few people out there still like Renaults, maybe @bernardl has a point......

Alpine A110
Squeezing in right at the end of the year is the Alpine A110, which is not just the best car of 2017, it's the best car in years. Driving it you know you're in the company of something incredibly special - like the first time you have a crack in a Toyota GT86, only this has the extra power we sometimes crave in the Toyota, while carrying even less weight and having its mass in the middle, which makes it turn ever more eagerly. At around £50,000 when it arrives in Q2 of 2018, the A110 will not be a cheap car, but could it be superior to a Porsche 718 Cayman when it does get here? It might just be.

Now getting the thread fully back on topic, seeing mock-up Devialet speakers in a Renault concept cars does not really tell us that much.  It might be a statement of intent or a simple hint as to what is to come.  So what is actually coming?  Are we likely to see Devialet on the options list for a Renault Megane anytime soon?

@Confused This is why Holden drivers are considered bogans:

Being a Brit, I’d never heard the expression “bogan” before. I found this definition online:

A fascinating beast. The majority of the species are hideously repugnant and unintelligent, and yet they manage to breed in ever-increasing numbers and populate an area known as the outer west. It is quite common to find five or sixoffspring in each family group, often with a different father for each new baby.
Their habitat consists of a weatherboard or brick-veneer dwelling and is characterised by an early-model Holden or Ford in the driveway surrounded by a group of males discussing why the carby is stuffed and the results of last night's footy (a primitive gladiator-like spectator sport enjoyed by most bogans).
The female of the species, while smaller in stature, is far more loud and aggressive than the male. While the males tend to be very friendly and congregate with other males, the females spend most of their time in supermarkets and shopping malls, using a shrill high-pitched call to discipline their children and contact other females.
Males and females rarely interact socially except during breeding season, which is otherwise known as Friday night. During this time, females are allowed to enter the male-dominated area known as "the pub" and display their impressive coloured plumage to a prospective mate
Herein lies an intersting phenomenon. Males will often fight over a particularly attractive female and she will mate with only one male, while some less attractive females have been known to have several partners simultaneously.

So there you have it!

Using tremendous skill and flair, I managed to get this thread fully back on topic in post #24.  Then @Pim & @Axel come along.....  Oh well....

Anyway, I'm off out now to see if any shops are open, I need to stock up on a few more tinnies....

Happy new year guys!

@Confused Ummm, a tinny is a small aluminium boat, usually used by the male variety of Bogan to go fishing and usually fitted with an oversized, over powered outboard motor. Usually more beer consumed than fish caught. Probably better you go out and buy a slab of VB or Tooheys New.

Re @Craig1512's last post, I am not keen on boats, except perhaps when big enough to house a bar and casino.  Anyway, I have seen this, which I see as a more economical alternative to the Devialet equipped Renault Symbioz.  No issues with CI Board software either....
