I’ve been frantically pressing the “buy” button, to get the price, but it just keeps refreshing the page you are already on! Any idea how much it costs, Sami?

What makes MUTEC a better choice?
Bluesound Node > Matrix Audio X-SPDIF 2 > Genelec 8351B & 7360A
Devialet 1000 Pro
Bluesound Node 2i > Genelec 8330
Tampere, Finland

If I were to spend this amount of money on external clock and could not wait.to buy an Esoteric, then I would rather spend them to a company that already has a reputation around studio gear and her products are bought by mastering engineers.

They probably know something more than us

On paper both the Mutec and SOtM have very good specifications, with the SOtM looking like it is fractionally the better of the two. Of course, on paper specifications can be misleading and the SOtM is a brand new product, so we will need to wait and see how well it performs in practice. The Mutec has been out for a few months now, with user reports pretty much universally very positive.

The Mutec has a high quality built in LPSU, the SOtM requires an external power supply. The Mutec has 8 outputs (6 off 75ohm 2 off 50ohm), the SOtM has 4 off 50ohm outputs, with 75ohm as an option.

The cases are a different shape, one is German, one is Korean, the prices are similar.

Not much in it I would say. It will certainly be interesting to see how the SOtM performs in practice.
