Ethernet switch makes a difference?

Once again an audiophile fundamentalist will only be guided by following technical specs.

If you use an internet box, I would recommend a cheap managed switch mainly because you can create Vlan (something you can do with a pro router)

I have a managed switch already! I was interested in seeing whether anyone had theories as to why managed should sound better than unmanaged (or vice versa).   I did experiment with separate VLANs a few years ago but couldn't detect any sound quality differences back then (with a separate subnet on each VLAN). [edit] I might retry my tests. The switch I use is a 24 port TP-Link TL-SG3424 which is used for all my devices and is not dedicated to audio-only so probably less than optimal.  I'm a former sysadmin/network engineer kind-of guy so like to have the ability to configure stuff if need be.   The switch unfortunately has a built-in SMPS (probably) power supply.

I'm glad to read your feedback.
On my side after several tests I never detected a better sound quality.
Right now i'm connected over PLC.

And have you tried a aqvox switch or a liniar powersupply ?

Absolutely not.
I use a Netgear GS105Ev2.
Frankly, i became skeptical with hardware labelled "for Audio device".
Most of network devices already have a noise filter.
a Linear power supply seems important but I'm wondering if the Phantom Gold worth such an extra investment.
