Configuring TV remote, not SPARK, to control TV Volume
#1
On my first try, my Samsung TV remote could control TV volume, so I did not have to go to my PC or tablet to run spark to do it.

Then I moved my speakers, and did a fresh set up.   And now the Samsung TV remote will not control phantom sound any more.

My setup is all ethernet connected from dialog to speakers, with optical from dialog to TV.

TV SETTINGS:
SOUND/ADDITIONAL SETTINGS/AUDIO FORMAT = PCM
SPEAKER SETTINGS SOUND OUTPUT:  AUDIO OUT (not TV speaker)

SPARK SETTINGS:
DEVICES/DIALOG/OPTICAL is on.   Autoswitch....i played with this both ways, on and off.
TV shows up as selected below the AUTOSWITCH bar for turn off or turn on.

PHANTOM SETTINGS:
Bluetooth:  have played with this both on and off.   Should make no diff as not sending music to the system from iphone etc.
Remote support:   enable
Optical phantom: OFF (not using, ethernet is connected for sound)

I phoned Devialet and they said one should be able to control TV vol with the TV remote.  I know that is true as I did have that working initially.

But now it doesnt work....any idea why it would work for a while, then not?   What am I missing in settings?
Thanks.

Hello
Ticket submitted this morning with Deviate support, reply received end of morning.
This is a TV dependent issue. Some TV will be able to control the volume when the sound is sent to optical output.
However, the vast majority of TV will not. Whether the optical audio out is processed by phantoms, d200 or any other solution.

2 possibilities:
Use the spark app on an is or Android phone or ipod touch.

Use the phantom remote.
