D-Premier HDMI - incoming voltage / dB help
#1
I have connected my Roon Core HDMI output directly to my D-Premier Hdmi in...sounds good on first pass yay...but the input signal seems maxed out and pushing the output display (the colored green red bar stereo bars one on the last screen after long pressing the "invert" remote buttom") into the "red" zone for that input. There is no Vrms adjustment for HDMI digital input (unlike when i'm feeding a LINE 1 input signal).

I don't see any adjustment on the Intel NUC to lower this signal voltage...is there any?

I can lower this signal by using a MUSE setting headroom adjustment in Roon which I can jump down by say -20 db and the display then operates lower "in the green" by that shift but what is that doing to sound quality?

but is this is the right way to do this?
or is the high input signal normal?

my concern of course is distortion and clipping control.

Thanks
