@wwm -- that's great! I think my speakers are too heavy it would cost a lot to ship them. Maybe I can convince German Physiks to ship one.

Aaron,

I see your profile contains the Antipodes 'streamer'. Could you please tell me how you ended up with that one? I have a Naim Unitiserve and it is ok but not over the hill with its sonic performance plus I had my fair share of issues with it. I really would like to step up in the quality department when it comes to streaming. I am not interested in wifi applications and truth is I would never manage to set up something like that hence I chose the Naim solution.

I hope there is more to a new update than merely Sam profile changes as my speakers will never have a Sam profile.

For a bit of fun I bought some kef ls50's and atohm gt1.0's to try Sam, and whilst an improvement I felt the protection cut in way too early, flattening out and reducing the bottom end when I pushed the volume.

My Raidho X1 suffer from the same protection cut, so much, I started looking for replacements. However, first, I will sort my pc's at home by a full test of Ansuz cables and distributor.

That email indicates that Devialet did not completely forget us "expert" users. Quite curious about: "This year, once again, we are preparing an extraordinary surprise regarding SAM for Munich."
I hope I will be a more open system that allows to adjust (also in the time domain) speakers and maybe rooms on a software platform allowing also to use non mainstream speakers. SAM for everyone? Hopefully that software works better than the present version of AIR! They have not mentioned anything about AIR or substitutes like Dialog!

Hi Mikeoo,

I ended up with the Antipodes because 1) It pretty much only had positive reviews and from reviewers I trusted; 2) It has a CD Ripper which I like for simplicity; and 3) I got a good deal on a demo. My experience with the streamer and with the company that makes it have been entirely positive (http://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?tid=775). Digital Audio Review will be reviewing the latest top of the line Antipodes streamer and the Aurender in the coming months so I'm sure there will be some helpful comparisons (http://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?tid=775). I'm completely content with it though!
