Remote app volume not working (250CI)

Since a couple of weeks the remote app om my Google android phone doesnt control
volume on my 250.

 I can switch on/off and change inputs just fine but no longer controls volume. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and disconnected the power cord on 250 for a day but to no avail.
Im thinking maybe the app is to old for my phone… 

Any suggestions?

Volume control for Optical input doesn’t work on iOS devices too. I didn’t see this issue on Air and USB inputs.

Works on my iPhone to set the volume for optical input on an Expert 220 Pro.

Is the input set as variable or fixed (pass thru)?

If the config works as expected it is variable as the regular remote can manage it with no problem while the app is not functioning.
