Hi Archer what made you go with the Townsend?
I have been auditioning their Isolda 300 interconnects and although its still early days im really liking them

I saw some forum members ie Kunter, thumb5 reporting very good things about Isolda plus I noticed it is a neutral sound cable without adding any character but mainly giving the character of your components. I also learnt that it has a very good base control and good at midrange. Last but not least, it is price point is very good.
I hope some existing users will come here and comment more than I can do.

thats the same characteristics im finding with my interconnects
speaker cables are going to be my next upgrade so i am very happy to hear any good feed back Big Grin

Normally I have a near impossible time telling the difference between cables but I must say the the analog cables with network boxes specifically Transparent sure can help voice a system.

I have a set of Gen 5 Super speaker cables between my D200 and Focal 1028BE on trial right now. They sure relax the Focal's in a good way.

I agree - Gen 5 are terrific speaker cables.

I lived in France for five years and purchased my Devialet Ensemble (Devialet 200 plus Atohm GT1s) while I was there. I played around with different cables, including the supplied Atohm cables, but it wasn't until I purchased an ASI Liveline cable loom from Franck Tchang in Paris that I experienced the "wow" factor. To be sure, some find Franck's cables bright and perhaps too revealing with the incredible resolution and detail of the Devialet. For me, though, they are really good. In particular, the cables seemed to be voiced nicely for electric guitar, perhaps because Franck is also a guitar player. Interestingly, before he got into audio, Franck was a jeweler by trade. His cables use a variety of metals to achieve their effect, a by-product of Franck's past. For fun reading, check his website.

Lots of interesting suggestions here. I'd like to throw another one into the mix - Naim's NAC A5.

Upside - pace, punch, detail and body. Also, it's cheap.

Downside - it's stiff and difficult to site properly. Its very cheapness counts against it since many might think it doesn't have sufficient hifi credibility.

My experience ? It's really worth taking a chance sometimes.

Testing out the Avondale black link at the moment,it was made by Avondale marketing Naim owners as a replacement for Naim's NAC A5.
2 meter and flexible with the same outcome as using Naims proposal for 7 meter min Smile

And as you say :Upside - pace, punch, detail and body. Also, it's cheap.

hi, im new to this forum and to the whole audiophile thing. i recently invested in devialet 200 & a pair of VAF i33 speakers, which i am very impressed with (using a pair of WireWorld Solstice 7 cables)

im a very technologically knowledged person having built nearly all of my computers myself.
so here's my question, just to be clear im no expert on electrical circuitry so i might just be not understanding how electricity works, im just thinking logically but surely speaker cable quality is only as good as the weakest link in the system, by this is i mean
the speaker cables can only be as good as the wiring from the connection on the back of the speaker cabinet to the crossovers and speaker drivers (and the wiring from the connection on the back of the amp to the amps internals) or am i wrong?

I'd like to share this : I switched from NAC A5 to Atohm Zef Max and gave it a try for a month. The white cables were aesthetically more acceptable than the black stiff naim ones. One day my wife told me out of the blue : "dare I say you've lost something in the SQ since you changed your speaker cables ?" Honestly I'not sure I could tell the difference with a blind test but the NAC A5 is back on our white tiles !
