I guess the resulting SQ was much better then!? I used my Crystal cable between my Oppo player and Dev for + 1000 hours, and I can't say it made much difference from the initial SQ. Compared to the RCA-AES/EBU solution it not on the same level. My own RCA-RCA construction is still better than the Crystal. Maybe a cooker is the answer to break it? Happy with my RCA-AES/EBU set up/Mike RE: Master/slave link - miro - 20-Apr-2015 (26-Mar-2015, 19:46)MusicFirst Wrote:(26-Mar-2015, 19:42)Mohmm Wrote:(26-Mar-2015, 18:44)MusicFirst Wrote: Does Anyone know for sure if the Audioprana SP/Dif-AES/EBU cable uses a transformer? Hi GuillaumeB, I would have expected you to choose the 110 ohm. Any particular reason why you chose the 75 ohm? Correct! At the time (going back well over a year) I wasn't convinced by the rationale behind the hybrid and there were conflicting guidelines on the subject coming from Devialet anyway. So I opted for more of a purist approach. When I put this cable into my system there was such a dramatic improvement (yes, night and day) that it was a no brainer quite frankly! Many months later I found out about the Audioprana hybrid, hence my sharing of this on the forum. You can try with the Neutrik NA2FPMM 3 pole XLR Male – RCA Plug (http://www.neutrik.com/en/accessories/circular-adapters/na2mpmm) on the side of the slave unit. I am also extremely happy with my Stereolab Tombo Tron coaxial 75-ohm ($2,000), but might try combining it with the Neutrik NA2FPMM as well. |
