I have wondered about this before but I had forgotten about it since it is such a long time since I have used AIR. AIR 3 has reminded me.
When using AIR on a Mac, The Devialet volume control changes the Mac volume as well as the volume on the Amp.
It does not seem correct or necessary for the Mac volume to be changed.
I would have expected the Mac volume not to change (so it could permanently be set to 100% so as to be bit perfect) and only the Amp volume to change.
Perhaps, even though the Mac volume is changed, AIR is still sending to the Amp at 100%. I have no idea. Or is the volume being changed in 2 Places at once?
Does anyone have any definitive information on this?
