Firmware 8.0
There is virtualy zero benefit for Dev 120 owners with non SAM speakers.
RAM is for all models except Dev 120
ICM the same as above
The new firmware has benefited owners of SAM speakers on low frequencies who had some problems BUT for owners of non SAM speakers is a disaster.Very thin bass with non SAM speakers.
For DSD I can’t speak because I don’t use USB it’s not real DSD reproduction anyway.
SAM V2 good in theory.
After that I revert to 7.1.1 and wait for next update unless my speakers become SAM. (ATC-SCM 40 v.1)

Around 3 o'clock yesterday, I received a message saying that the SAM problem was solved and was asked to verify that SAM was working properly. I must say ( based from experience from the hifi-industry which have been my occupation for the last 20 year +) that Devialet solved the problem fast - especially concidering that we are in the middle of the most important hifi-show of the year ( Munich high-End). Kudos Devialet!

That is interesting and new over the previous SAM version. Why would you need a SAM profile for the left and right speaker to be identical unless this is the pre-requirement for future room corrections maybe?

I don't think it is for left and right speaker as the values are different for both value sets. I think it is for bass (SAM V1) and for a new additional correction of the upper frequencies.
Otherwise my left and right speaker would now sound totally different...what they do not of course.

I tend to not agree. See below the SAM values. Assumption I do is that left column is left speaker, right column is right speaker. Why? Prior to the SAM fix only the left column was in the config file. After the fix the right column was added (actually it is in one list but for convenience and comparison reasons now in columns) as a result we also had sound in the right speaker. This was the only change they made so good reason for assuming.

SAM values, although with an offset are identical for left and right. Why have a separate SAM profiles for left and right speaker? In individual measurements this may correct small deviations in left and right speaker but these are generic profiles for a specific speaker type. From a room correction perspective this would definitely make a lot of sense so this could be a first step towards it.

For SAM v1 the profile is also still included in the config file logically for 'legacy' support. The old SAM only uses 64 values (for both speakers I'd say).

I'm quite intrigued by all the zero values. If each parameter represents a frequency range then it's rather surprising that some just happen to be exactly zero. My assumption could well be wrong.

I can't get into the technical details and I don't have SAM speakers but I have just upgraded my firmware and my phono stage sounds amazing. I am playing records I know really well and the amount of information being retrieved from those bits of plastic is staggering.
Bass lines are almost tactile and it is so damn rhythmic. I can see I will get nothing done today. I thought the 200 was a great bit of kit but this has taken it to a whole new level.

ICM is available on my Dev 120 with the same impact as described by the other forum users.
Have you configured a button on your remote for it?

My guess is that adding a separate lookup table for each speaker may be a preparation for room correction.
