What do you use for playing? A streamer or, can it be played from Apple using iTunes Air without loosing bits in the process?

I do think in my case there is no sense to try the high resolution files, according to this article the airport express in my home network limits to the redbook format 16 / 44.1 . Is this correct? So for me options would be:

- external streamer
- wait for the Dev streamer :-)

That limitation is for Apple Airplay (or if you use the digital or analog output on the AE) If you're using your AE as a WiFi access point or its built in switch and iTunes as your player outputting to the Devialet AIR driver (which you mention in your signature) you can stream up to 24/192. That is if you have a stable WiFi environment.

(If I were you I'd ditch both WiFi (if that's what you're using) and iTunes and use ethernet and get a proper music player like Roon... Smile)
Edit; I see you already have Roon (it's currently at version 1.2 build 161 BTW)

Thanks Antoine, my family is using iTunes, so i ditched Tidal some time ago... will do some experiments to get all working on higher resolution, if it works there is sense to go back to Tidal again.

Tidal is optional for Roon. You can also use it to play files on a NAS or local harddisk in your computer or any computer on your network. (I don't use Tidal either but still love Roon)

I stream most of the music, so I need to have a streaming service... i know that Tidal is offering high resolution content, but i need my set up to handle that properly. Although my network (airport - devialet) is showing maximal signal, I have a lot of drop outs using any other format then 44 / 24bit on the midi setup... maybe it's my macbook air (?).

OK, we're going terribly off topic here but there's much you could improve in your streaming setup if you'd desire to do so. If so it's perhaps best to open a new topic to get some help and suggestions from the forum.

Why not just disclose your industry connection upfront, rather than the ambiguous statement above?

It's great that people from all over participate here, but I wish it was mandatory for industry professionals, dealers, trade, etc to have their credentials displayed in their signature.
