Finally my D120 to arrive this Friday - Looking for Links to read for Set up
#7
Hi Jnan_devi,

My set up is simpler than yours, but I found the installation fairly easy. I unboxed things, and hooked up the speaker cables, and connected the optical cable from my Airport Express to the Optical 1 input (beside the SD card slot). Once powered up, I used the Remote app on my iPhone to find the shared iTunes library on my iMac. It is important that the music library is available for sharing, and the output has to be set to airplay. This is something you probably know. We have Rdio for streaming and that also needs to have airplay selected; otherwise the sound goes out the speakers on your phone or pad.

The music worked effortlessly, and we've had perfect performance since minute one. I also downloaded the Devialet app for my iPhone, and installed the Devialet application on my mac; that is on one of the configurator pages, along with the firmware updates.

I have the Dev connected to my router by ethernet, but I don't know if that is necessary. I also updated the firmware, and using the configurator, activated the WiFi and ethernet ports on the Dev.

So far my wife and I are both over the moon with the sound; and compared to UPnP, this is a dream. I don't think I'm streaming my music over the AIR app, but with your Airport Express I don't think you will need to either.

I am curious about why you have two AP Expresses; your drawing show two ethernet cables to an APEx, but they only have one ethernet jack.
