Thanks for your thoughts, Chris and Delaney. I wouldn't be looking to make a change to Devialet if it wasn't to reduce the number of boxes, and I guess in particular removing the REL Studio. I found with Ian's 250 that with SAM the bass was extended beyond what the ESL-X can manage on its own, and although the bass isn't as powerful as with the REL it's bearable. I see the switch from Lavardin+REL+Cyrus to Devialet as sideways rather than upwards, but it will simplify things. And the clarity of the Devialet is definitely a plus.
