From the manual for the above phono stage:
"Connection to the amplifier over S/PDIF
Use optical cable for digital connection to your amplifier. A computer has to be connected with A/D Phono Box S and turned on to activate S/PDIF output."
Seems a but silly to have to connect a computer for the optical output to work. I was thinking to get one of these but that is a deal-breaker for me.
Thank you for checking. This is a deal breaker indeed. Maybe there is a new product in the works? The A/D Phonobox S went into the archive section of the website. Could not find however a new, dedicated ADC by Pro-Ject that would offer optical out.
