Apple has consistently shown little interest in high quality digital music - when it could, and should have been a leader. Apple still only provide music in lossy format and was slow to adopt the newer higher quality Bluetooth standards. ITunes imposes any number of restrictions both in terms of file type and resolution. Apple started the digital music revoltion - but has done very little since - except where it could see a way to make lots of money.
