My D-Premier worked fine with 24/192 but when I had the first updated to a 250 it no longer did. It was explained that 24/96 is the maximum guaranteed speed for toslink but some receivers are better than others.
Devialet hand picked a toslink receiver that worked with 24/192 and fitted it to my second updated unit (I had 2 D-Premiers and updated them one at a time, partly so I wasn't without one and partly so I could compare original and update).
The spec of toslink is 24/96 and one may be lucky and get a unit that goes to 24/192 but it is not that likely.
