You say it's "what everybody really wants" but "everybody" means that there has to be no-one who doesn't want that. I don't want tha. I don't want the sound inside my head, I want it around me, just like it is at a live performance, and I think that there will be a lot of other people who would prefer that also. I'm not even certain that "most people", ie more than 50% of the population, would want that sort of experience.
Im not against the technology and i don't even think it's all that new. I can remember hearing about work on this sort of system years ago and one of the suggested uses for it at that time was to give visitors to art galleries and museums access to commentary on the exhibits as they walked around the gallery or museum. That's something I would personally use this kind of technology for, but it's not the way I want to listen to music.
Truth be told, I can't thing of a single thing that everybody wants and I always thought that Devialet's advertising claim that "Some day everyone will own a Devialet" was simply totally wrong.
