I don't mean to be boring, I guess I'm just a bit old school in terms of the casual use of "works" and "doesn't work". 

I read the above as "doesn't work", you, and I'm sure many others read it as "works". All good.  

(Note to self: must stifle frustrations and find something more useful to spend time on….)

Understood.  It's hard to disentangle from one's personal experience; if I was having more drop-outs or other problems with AIR, I'm sure I'd have a different view on the poll results
