Well I don't consider myself an expert, just an obsessive audionut active in this hobby too long! Wink But thank you for your kind words.

I understand a home audition isn't easy as they are very heavy (over 80kg each in total if I remember correctly) and even though they come in wooden crates it's quite a hassle to transport them. You'll need a big car too! Smile The Anni's (like owners like to call them) are quite powerful in the bass. Being nearly full range loudspeakers and having 2 Seas Excel W22 woofer left and right plus a non sealed cabinet ported design. So I hope they won't overload your room which, compared to American standards (VSA's home market), isn't very large. The bass ports are 'tunable' if needed by removing or adding dacron. The manual gives you details on this.

The manual is very valuable by the way. It's very elaborate on how to setup these beasts optimally so I'd study it well. Like with any high end loudspeaker careful placement is essential to get good sound and the most out of them.

I also do think they have quite nice looks and a nice finish but it's not to eg. Magico standards. Their design might be considered a bit less modern as well by some people. But of course the only thing that matters is that you and your wife like how they look, especially in real life/"in the flesh".

Their built and part quality is high. High quality audiophile level filter components are used which are hardwired and soldered point to point (so no current limiting PCB's!). Internal wiring is of a high quality (I believe the mkII has the Masterbuilt brand inside. Mine has Analysis Plus cabling) also all directly soldered (no clips etc.). Binding posts are the WBT-0702.12 Topline Signatures of $175/pair (6 pairs of them in total!) so not the crappy Chinese quality we see on our Devialets. And of course, very important, high quality Seas, Scanspeak and BMC drivers are used.

I'd personally not use the short cables supplied to connect the mid/treble head unit to the bass units but use bi-wire loudspeaker cables or (long) jumpers from the head unit to the bass unit.

Enjoy and I look forward to your findings, even if you don't like them of course. Smile
