There are a few recordings which do sound 'better' with V8 but overall I find it a bit irritating to listen to for long
I didn't really like 7.1.3. either, so went back to where I started. 7.1.1
To my ears 7.1.3 and 8 were more similar.
I liked 7.1.3 when I first heard it but didn't use it much before upgrading to 8.0. I'm suspicious that 7.1.3 and 8.0 may actually sound the same (why else would Devialet have released the Beta teaser?) but thought I would try 7.1.3 again as its easy to do. I will go back to 7.1.1 if it doesnt work out.
Just a thought, I read somewhere that the new configurator only works with 8.0 onwards. Is that the case? If so, then any new customers or existing customers upgrading to dual mono will have to use 8.0 or whatever comes next...
EDIT: 7.1.3 now re-installed and to be honest after trying a couple of tracks I'm happier with it than I was with v8 so maybe Guillaume is right (again ). I will give it a few days before deciding what to do next.
